Collective expressions of personal favorites-Jason Sigler Design

 Hi there everyone out there in the "blogosphere", Here's some content that I've created over past year some a bit older. These works have been based on previous travel adventures or for just experimenting with various media and photoshop tricks and trade secrets. Brief Bio:
In 1999, I began working under Architect, Stephen C. Sigler as an apprentice Draftsman and we formed Axis 3 Architecture, Inc. http://www.axis3architects.com  Before that Stephen, my father had been practicing architecture for 26 years in both a private firm as a residential and commercial design architect as well as working with large design firms as a Project Manager. 

Growing up around the drafting table and various building sites was a great experience for me once I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in Architecture. As a child, the majority of the time spent with my father was in the home office drawing to pass the time quietly as he worked which allowed me to hone my skills in graphic design such as drawing and painting. Those skills developed into becoming proficient in Photoshop and Photography.

While in school I was interested web design and product branding in the action sports industry, mainly surfing and snowboarding. But as the economy improved during those years there was simply too many project opportunities for Stephen to handle on his own. I choose to work under him with the goal of  obtaining my own Architectural License. During that time, my hours could be signed off equal to College Credit for NCARB eligibility which is the authority that provides architectural exams and Licenses to NCARB candidates.

 Over the years we built the business adding my brother to the team along with 6 other employees, we were determined to create a successful family business and land the best projects by incorporating both 2D CAD methods partnered with the programs 3D capabilities.

 In our area we were one of very few that pursued this method of building the project first in 3D computer space, then translating that information to 2D construction Documents which eliminated many cost overruns by avoiding plan vagueness and document errors. Reverse engineering from the model allowed for all parties involved with the project to comment and critique the buildings aspects long before it became cost prohibitive to complete, which in the end saved the client money and time. 

 As the programs became more advanced we developed new methods in creating exciting combinations of shadow, light and structure that blended with the environment. Below are many examples of our work over the years, some of which were built while I was growing up around the drafting table others are as recent as this past year.

 

 

 

 

Many of the projects that I was involved with ranged in various styles depending on the clients design preferences. We obliged by welcoming an open dialogue between owner, architect and builder in order to conclude with a successful project.

 Redlands California, several of Stephen Sigler's contemporary international designed custom homes can be found nestled in the architecturally rich and historic foothills south of University of Redlands.
